The Canadian Cannabis Awards (CCAs) are an annual celebration recognizing excellence and innovation in Canada’s cannabis industry. The CCAs highlight the best people, products and companies in Canadian cannabis.

The CCAs started in 2014.


Nominations start August 1 and close August 30. Nominations are used to create categories and inform voting selections for the CCA committee votes, which is a separate process. Voting starts September 1, 2017 and ends September 30, 2017.

For the first time, the CCAs have appointed a committee of cannabis industry professionals to choose the winners in certain industry specific-categories. To include as many worthy candidates as possible, we’ve opened the nomination process to the general public, who will generate a list of nominees from which the committee will choose its winners.

The CCA committee is composed of cannabis industry professionals, individuals uniquely qualified to assess the more technical categories.These diverse professionals represent broad aspects of the Canadian cannabis industry.

Your nominations are important, and helped generate a list of categories and candidates for the CCA committee, which chooses winners in the more technical and industry-specific categories. The rest of the categories remain open to any and all worthy candidates, so go ahead and vote for the cannabis products, people and companies you love! Voting closes September 1.

Winners will be announced on November 30 at the first-ever Lift hosted Canadian Cannabis Awards Gala. We’ll also provide a list of winners in Lift magazine and online at by December 1, 2017.

For the first time, the CCAs are featuring an awards gala dinner and ceremony where industry leaders will come together to eat, drink, and celebrate excellence in Canadian cannabis. The gala takes place November 30 in Toronto. For more info, visit
